Following the tragedy that took place a couple weeks ago, an outpouring of Tear Soup was sent to the Newtown Community.  We started to receive phone calls and emails from people all across the U.S. wanted to share Tear Soup with those in Newtown.  As of today, we have taken orders from Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Texas, Florida, New York, Maine, and more.  In total, we have shipped more than 500 copies of Tear Soup so far, with a plan to send more than 200 in the next week.

The majority of calls have been from people who received Tear Soup from a friend or family member following the death of a loved one, and the age of donors has ranged from Kindergarten classes to great-grandparents, to a 12-year-old girl who wanted to fundraise to send 100 books and exceeded her goal.

We have also been mentioned in a few news articles and news interviews.  We thought we would share a couple of them with you:

Grief Watch, Tear Soup and Sandy Hook - from the Huffington Post
Candles and tears: Portrait of a grieving town - from CNN
Gift Bags to Help Healing in Newtown - from Good Day Maine
Santee girl to send books that help kids cope with grief to Newtown, Conn. - KGTV channel 10 News, San Diego

Our director also shared her thoughts in an article for our website:

They Will Be Changed - But Will We? - by Pat Schwiebert
